In this audio book, jim bucher the author of the series read it (for the first time from what I know) and his Dresden voice seems to me to only have different levels of anger/hostility and sarcasm in the tone of his voice regardless of the situation or whom he's talking to.

I’ll reserve complete judgement on Harry’s personally, or lack of, due to events that had happened in #17. I’ll wait and read it myself so I’ll hear them the way they’re supposed to be.

If James Marsters doesn’t narrate the next one, I won’t buy it on audible. Harry wasn’t Harry, Bob wasn’t Bob, even Marcone was too different. Honestly it was like someone else wrote it, as well as read it. So when I saw one was being released this month I was like ‘Ok, cool, that wasn’t the end….then I was disappointed that James Marsters wasn’t narrating it but thought I should give it a chance. For a while during Battleground I thought surely it was the end to the series. I absolutely loved his character, the banter with Murphy…I’d actually laugh out loud and could sometimes predict his responses. I mean with a daughter, with Murphy gone!, Thomas virtually gone! and Lara Raith! Holy crap! I’ve been a die hard Harry fan since the beginning. I thought i’Its gonna be interesting to see just WHERE Harry could go after this’, ya know.
